請問關於讓計時制ADSL，一直保持連線的問題??

請問關於讓計時制ADSL，一直保持連線的問題??

我在/etc/crontab下如下指令
*/3 * * * * /usr/sbin/adsl-start 2>&1 /dev/null
但它卻不會自動連線，
cron是正常運作的
* * * * * /bin/echo "test" /tmp/test
正常！

gentoo linux
cron是vixie-cron
使用rp-pppoe
是哪裡打錯？
還是有其他更好的方法？

另外！
還有個小問題，
我編輯/etc/init.d/net
iface_eth0="192.168.0.2 broadcast 192.168.0.255 netmask 255.255.255.0"
iface_eth1=...
但...它並不會使用我所設定的ip
跟我沒裝dhcp應該沒差吧？
