SCIM + English Locales

i have add the following to /etc/profile

export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM
export GTK_IM_MODULE=SCIM
export QT_IM_MODULE=SCIM

I still need to choose the input method in gedit as scim, otherwise i can't use control+space to call the scim in gedit.

In firefox, the scim still not showing up, please help to fix this problem.
